Sem 2 week 4
Continuing from last week, I modelled and textured my last monster character. Because the last two designs were both tall and towering monsters, I wanted to change the third design to be a different shape and size for a variety of creepy figures. I decided to disfigure one my concepts by cutting the body in half. This gives the creepy appearance of a crawling monster that moves stealthily around Mikey's world. I followed the same process from last week, using the model I made last semester as a starting point:
Now that I have modelled and textured 4 characters, I'm running a little behind schedule and needed to quickly begin the rigging process. I had to learn how to use 'Rigify' in blender this week which took up a lot of time as it was a new process. I intended to take the models to Maya to use the MGear function but the textures didn't translate well between programs. For the rest of the week I allocated time to putting the rigs in place and will take on the parenting and posing tests next week.
This process was fairly similar to Maya's rigging process and I was able to put the skeletons
in place for all 4 characters.
