sem 2 week 10


 This week I edited the live action footage with the animated scenes in DaVinci Resolve. I laid out a general timeline using the animatic as a guide. This allowed me to ensure that the mix of the two worked well without the story being confusing. I then added a few sound effects from Freesounds.org to get a glimpse of the sonic atmosphere. This really enhanced the overall tone for the film. 


This week I also re-recorded some voice-lines for the new scenes added this semester. I then followed the same steps I used last semester where I put the recordings through an AI voice filter to simulate the old British narrator voice I was hoping to emulate. I then adjusted the vocal channel in Resolve as well as adding reverb and distortion for when the audio can be heard through the tv. In some portions I removed all vocal effects and lowered the pitch to convey a sinister tone, an example of this is when Mikey refuses to play the clowns game at the farm. 

Finally I began the process of the ending VFX shots. First, I tracked the environment in Nuke with a 3D camera tracker. I then put this camera into blender and animated the monster character breaking through the screen and crawling out of the tv. I added green and white lighting similar to the original shot. This was then rendered out and put into nuke for compositing next week.
